Cure For Pulmonary TB Disease?
good morning doctor, my name is Ach Mustain Romli
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
When diagnosed with TB relapses / recurred through an appropriate examination procedure, the treatment will be different from when the initial TB was diagnosed. Relapse TB uses category 2 treatment where the duration of treatment will be longer and the types of drugs also more numerous. In the first month, patients will get streptomycin injections every day besides oral medication. During the treatment period the patient must continue to monitor the treatment response and rule out whether there are other ballast factors that cause TB to relapse.
If there is no resistance to TB drugs and patient compliance with taking medication is good, then in general the standard TB drug regimen is very good response to patients. However, if the treatment is not optimal due to other factors, there is a risk that the infection will not be handled completely.
If you are still experiencing complaints of a long cough, you should consult again with a lung specialist for further evaluation.
That's all, hope you can help
