Dairy Milk That Opens The Lid In The Freezer?
I want to ask, I am preparing a supply of milk for my baby who is 2 months old, when I was storing the milk in the freezer, it turned out that the cap was open because I filled the bottle too full. Is ASIp still safe to drink? I keep 1 door in the refrigerator but there is no other food in the freezer
Hi Amelia, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Dairy milk (ASIP) must be stored properly so that its quality is maintained and not contaminated by bacteria or other microorganisms. When expressing breastmilk, you are advised to always use a breast pump that has been washed with soap and warm water (if it can be sterilized it is better). You also have to store in a clean container (if in a bottle, it is better if the bottle has also been washed and dried properly or has been sterilized, if stored in a plastic container, make sure to always use a new plastic container). You should also wash your hands with soap before pumping breast milk.
If your ASIP storage bottle is open, it will be easily contaminated by microorganisms, therefore it is better if you do not give ASIP that is open to your baby. In storing ASIP, you must also pay attention to where it is stored. In the 1-door freezer, you can only store ASIP for 2 weeks. If stored in the 2 door refrigerator freezer, you may store ASIP for 3-6 months. If stored in the freezer only (deep freezer), then you can store ASIP for 6-12 months. It's best to keep ASIP in small amounts (60-120 cc) so that you don't waste it if the baby doesn't finish drinking.
Here is an article you can read about ASIP storage
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
