Dandruff Is Thick And Swollen
good afternoon doc
Thank you for the question.
The appearance of dandruff-like scales that are thick, swollen, painful, and form watery wounds when they are large are likely to indicate that you are experiencing psoriasis. This condition is caused by a disorder of immunity, which causes skin cells to regenerate excessively and uncontrollably, thus making the skin thickened, scaly, flaking, reddish, itchy, but also easily injured, and so on. Often, the symptoms of psoriasis are triggered or exacerbated by infection, skin injury, stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, vitamin D deficiency, and consumption of certain drugs.
It could also, apart from psoriasis, your complaints arise due to other triggers, such as seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, leprosy, xeroderma, hyperkeratosis, fungal infections, impetigo, erysipelas, neurodermatitis, ichthyosis vulgaris, and so on.
To be clear, try to see yourself see a doctor or dermatologist. Depending on the cause, your condition can later be treated differently. If psoriasis is the originator, then although this disease cannot be cured, the symptoms can be controlled by administering several types of drugs, supplements, moisturizers, light therapy, chemotherapy, and several other therapeutic modalities.
In the meantime, what needs to be done is:
Bathing diligently, use mild soaps and contain moisturizers
Always use clean, loose, and soft clothing
Before dressing, use a moisturizer on your skin first
Avoid skin from contact with substances that can trigger allergies and irritations
Do not slough off complaints in the skin
Do not also carelessly provide treatment for complaints on the skin without doctor's advice
Drink lots of water and eat foods rich in antioxidants
Don't stress and discipline to live a healthy lifestyle
Hope this helps ...
