Danger Of Choking On Food For The Respiratory Tract?
yesterday I choked while eating nuggets. Over time I felt that the nugget moved to the respiratory tract. And a long time ago inhibited breathing. What should I do?
Hello Fighters, thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com.
Choking is a condition where there is a food or drink that enters the respiratory tract (can cause partial or total blockage) where this food should enter the digestive tract (esophagus). This can occur because the hole is not closed that leads to the respiratory tract when food will be swallowed. The opening of the respiratory tract when swallowing food is often caused by talking or laughing while eating.
Choking on its own, especially those that cause a total airway obstruction, is an emergency condition where this condition requires immediate treatment, if too late can result in death.
If in your place of residence there are other people (not living alone), then ask for their help to take an action called positive-and-five, which is doing a pat on the back 5 times and doing the Heimlich maneuver 5 times followed by a change between these two units until the plug is released. You can read more about how to help people choke in the following article.
If your helper has done this but there is no improvement, it is advisable to ask your helper to immediately bring you to the nearest hospital emergency room for further assistance.
I hope this helps.
