Danger Of Coughing Up Blood.?

Hello … Peace … I have been coughing for 1 week, until my throat hurts, and today, the cough is bleeding with saliva and mucus. Why is that? Dangerous or not?
1 Answer:
Good evening, thanks for the question
Complaints of cough accompanied by blood spots can indicate conditions that are not severe until a serious infection. A cough that is accompanied by blood if there is little or only a patch of blood that arises occasionally is probably due to irritation or injury to the airways due to persistent coughing. This condition does not need to worry too much because it is not a dangerous condition.
But what to watch out for is if this cough complaint continues for more than 1 month, accompanied by fresh blood expectoration every time coughing, significant weight loss, and fever and night sweats, then immediately check with your doctor to get treatment according to the cause the underlying. Long cough accompanied by blood, weight loss, and fever at night are classic symptoms of pulmonary TB infection. Pulmonary TB suspicion needs to be confirmed through sputum examination to detect the presence of TB germs and chest x-ray examination.
Some things you can do to relieve cough at home include:
1. Consuming warm water to relieve airway
2. Do not eat oily foods with harsh consistency because they can further irritate the airways
3. Use a mask when in public places to avoid transmission to others
4. Get enough rest
That's all, hope you can help
Wassalam.
