Good evening doctor, I want to ask, I am 22 years old, my fiance and I often have sexual relations, such as petting or just swiping between sexes, I do not include the question, do I and my partner get sexually transmitted diseases? And if the doctor asks sexual background we both me and my partner the same for the first time doing that
Hello Resky Aditya, thank you for your question to HealthReplies.com.
Sexually transmitted diseases are a condition caused by bacterial / viral / parasitic / fungal infections resulting from unsafe sexual intercourse. There are many causes of sexually transmitted diseases, some of which are:
Gonorrhea due to bacterial infection. This condition can affect both men and women. Sometimes a person may not feel any symptoms (normal in women), but usually a person can complain of pain when urinating, thick yellow fluid comes out of the genitals, and so forth
Genital herpes is an example of a sexually transmitted disease caused by a virus. Herpes itself can be seen as plenting around the genitals, which when broken into wounds that feel pain
Genital warts are caused by a Human papilloma virus infection. This condition is transmitted through touch / friction on the skin that carries the virus. For example due to sex friction with the genitals or from the touch of the hand to the genitals themselves or partners
Fungal infections to other skin diseases, such as genital lice, molluscum contagiosum
Other sexually transmitted diseases that can harm the body such as Hepatitis B, to HIV / AIDS.
For the act of petting itself is inseparable from the dangers of these sexually transmitted diseases. With the existence of friction in the genitals, can cause friction injuries on the skin of your genitals or your partner, so that if the wound is large enough and not maintained clean can increase the risk for the entry of bacterial infections or causes of other diseases. In addition to sexually transmitted diseases, this petting activity also remains at risk for pregnancy if carried out under certain conditions.
You can read more about the risks of petting activities here.
Avoid sexually transmitted diseases by ABCDE steps:
A- Abstinence, which means not having sexual relations before marriage
B- Be faithful. For married couples, loyal to just one partner
C- Condom. Actually, for this step that is not reliable, because it should be carried out by the two steps above, there will not be sexual relations that risk transmitting sexually transmitted diseases
D- Don't do drugs / avoid using drugs or alcohol. Because, the behavior is closely related to free sex acts
E-Education. Enrich yourself with the knowledge of the dangers of free sex, diseases that can be transmitted, religious views, to the psychological and social impacts associated with it.
That's all, hopefully it's useful.
