Danger To Scars (keloids)?
Hello Doctor ~ I want to ask, my friend is growing like a thyroid for a butterfly near the back and right arm. is that dangerous? Thank you
Hello Lina, thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com.
Let me introduce myself, Dr. Rio will try to answer your question.
I do not understand what you're asking. The thyroid is a gland in the neck, and is one of the largest endocrine glands. Thyroid can not be the body or spread to other body parts. Maybe what you mean is KELOID.
Keloid is excessive scar tissue growth. Basically this is not dangerous but often causes a lack of confidence, especially if the appearance of keloids in areas that look like on the face, or hands. Basically the scars will usually disappear by themselves over time. However, in keloids it does not occur, instead there is a continuous thickening, often accompanied by complaints of itching.
There is no definitive cause in the appearance of this keloid, but hereditary factors are thought to play a strong, certain ethnic role. Other factors that can cause keloids are depth, and wound management.
Basically keloids do not require medical treatment, but if you are disturbed by these keloids as keloids increase in size continuously. You can consult a dermatologist to deal with these complaints.
My advice if you have a tendency to grow keloids, be careful in doing things like piercing, making tattoos, because it can trigger keloids.
That's all my answer, thank you very much :)
