Dangerous If The Epithelial Results Are Positive On A Urine Test.?
Good morning. I am a 21-year-old goddess. 2 months ago I joined the MCU at work and when I saw the epithelium was positive. Is this dangerous or not? Explanation please. Thank you
Maybe what you mean is a positive epithelial result on a urine test. One of the tests performed during MCU is a urine test. Epithelial cells are cells that line the surface of an organ / body and function as a protector.
Epithelial cells can indeed be found in normal urine (about 5 cells per field of vision), but if there are many or found in certain forms of epithelial cells, think about the possibility of kidney disorders, infections and urinary tract stones.
If the epithelial cells that are commonly found are squamous cells, there may be an error when taking urine samples so that the urine is contaminated.
But keep in mind that epithelial cells alone cannot be a single parameter for diagnosing a disease. The doctor must look at the results of the urine test as a whole, accompanied by seeing the results of other supporting tests, and combined with information obtained through history taking and physical examination in order to be able to infer the patient's condition.
If there are abnormal urine test results, I suggest that you bring the test results to the doctor directly so that a more thorough interpretation can be made.
Hope it helps you,
