Did Baby Food Spit Out All?
I want to ask … when an 8 month old baby vomits after a few moments after eating … does that mean all the food that the baby ate came out all or nothing
Hello Ithe, thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com.
Let me introduce myself, Dr. Rio will try to answer your question.
Vomiting in infants needs to be aware of, and heeded. Vomiting is a condition when the contents of the stomach come out forcibly due to a certain condition. In adults, in addition to vomiting, can feel nausea. In infants when vomiting can be caused by several things such as:
Milk intolerance. Eat foods that are too hard like rice, bananas, etc. Bacterial / viral infections. Congenital abnormalities such as esophageal atresia. Some of the above possibilities can harm your baby, for that if complaints of vomiting occur continuously, and repeated immediately consult your child specialist pediatrician, to get a direct examination.
Responding to your question about, when you throw up all the food that comes in or out does not depend on how fast you throw up when eating. Vomiting originates from the stomach upwards, automatically if vomiting occurs shortly after eating all food or drinks will come out.
Right now what you can do is:
Evaluate vomiting, and bowel movements. If you keep repeating immediately bring it to the hospital, because you are at risk of dehydration. Evaluate other complaints that usually arise such as fever, cough, etc. Stop giving formula milk for a while just give breast milk. Avoid using drugs carelessly. That's all my answer, hopefully it's useful. :)
