I want to ask the doctor, I have menstruated 2 days with a very large volume (even 1 day to replace pads 3x (30cm pads)). This is a little strange to me, because: – already 6 months before, my menstruation had a small volume, very little. – A few days before the blood came out, the breast felt very painful, even if the nipple was nudged smoothly u0026amp; slowly it hurts so much – besides that the breasts feel very full, really feels bigger than usual, even the husband also said so Is it possible, do not this is a miscarriage blood ?? Please explain … Thank you

Hello Khairunnisa, Thank you for the question.

Normal menstruation lasts for 2-7 days with the distance between menstruation (menstrual cycle) ranges between 21-35 days. Your periods are still normal. The amount of normal menstrual bleeding ranges from 30-40 mL (around 6-8 teaspoons) per cycle and usually the amount of menstrual blood in the first days will be more. The symptoms that you experience may not be bleeding due to miscarriage, especially if it happens to coincide with menstrual periods. Less previous menstrual bleeding can be caused by hormonal disorders such as fatigue, stress, strict diets, drastic weight changes, the use of birth control. On the other hand, the symptoms that you convey before menstruation occur are breast pain including normal conditions. Before menstruation, besides breast pain, you can also feel your appetite increase and get tired easily. This condition is known as pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) which generally begins to occur within 1-2 weeks before menstruation due to hormonal changes.

Please continue to monitor your menstruation. If later you have to replace the dressing every less than 2 hours or if the bleeding lasts more than 7 days, then this condition is not normal and you are encouraged to consult further with your obstetrician so that the doctor can do the assessment to you to find the cause and determine treatment next.

Some suggestions that you can do to keep menstruation smooth is to get enough rest for 7-9 hours every day, avoid strict diets, limit your physical activity not to overdo it, maintain an ideal body weight, and manage stress well.

Hope this answer helps you.
