Fetal weight can be estimated manually through examination of the height of the fundus uteri (TFU), or known by conducting an ultrasound examination to a gynecologist.
Manual checks are generally carried out by physical examination and fundal height calculations. This method is a conventional method with low sensitivity and potential errors or miscalculations often occur.
Until now, an examination using ultrasound is the main examination to determine fetal development, including the estimated fetal weight (TBJ). Fetal weight was calculated based on calculations of fetal head circumference, head diameter, abdominal circumference and fetal thigh length. So the more specific TBJ estimation results are known by ultrasound examination compared to calculations based on TFU.
However, what you need to understand is that examination with high fundus uteri (TFU) and ultrasound is estimated in knowing the weight of the fetus in the womb, so the resulting value does not always display exact numbers. But with these results, fetal development can be known to be more specific.
Thus the information we can convey, hopefully helps
