Difficult To Adapt To The Environment And New People?
I want to ask, I find it very difficult to accept strangers that I just met, or when I come to visit a new place. it is very difficult for me to socialize and mingle. Is this one of the symptoms of anhedonism. thank you
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
Anhedonia is a situation where a person does not get pleasure from doing activities that were pleasant or makes people who experience them happy.
Anhedonia is commonly found in people with major depression and schizophrenia.
People with depression and schizophrenia often show symptoms of anhedonia such as lazy, ignorant, have no desire, all day just sleeping or sitting watching TV, daydreaming all day, have no initiative, sitting smoking all day. When asked to do something even a small activity is often not carried out or can not carry it out.
Complaints that you feel are not including symptoms of anhedonia. Difficult to socialize may be a type of personality that does not cause disruption in everyday life. If complaints are difficult to socialize to cause you to worry excessively when going to communicate with others, then this is a personality disorder because it has disrupted daily activities. Personality disorder that you experience may be anxious form of avoidance, with symptoms such as frequent anxiety, avoiding social activities, work environment, or school for fear of criticism and rejection, worrying about many things, low self-confidence, and feeling uncomfortable when being together people.
If so, you should consult a psychiatrist to evaluate the type of personality disorder and rule out the possibility of organic disorders in the brain, and determine what type of therapy is appropriate.
Try to always be open-minded, not worry too much about things, and be brave enough to interact with people around you.
So, hopefully you can answer
