Diseases Caused By Disorders Of Fat Metabolism?

.. what are the diseases that can be caused by abnormalities of fat metabolism?
1 Answer:
Hello, good afternoon Yuyun.
Metabolism is the process by which the body makes energy from substances in the food consumed, namely proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. If a person has a metabolic disease, the metabolic process will be disrupted. Examples of disorders of fat metabolism include Gaucher disease, fatty acid oxidation disorders, Niemann-Pick disease, Fabry disease, and Tay-Sachs disease. These diseases are inherited diseases (hereditary or genetic). If a person has one of these diseases, the person may not have enough enzymes to break down fat, or the enzymes may not work properly so the body can't convert fat into energy. This will cause the accumulation of fat in the body so that it can damage body cells and tissues, especially in the brain, peripheral nervous system, spleen, liver, and spinal cord.
Hopefully this explanation can answer your question.
