Distal Radius Fractures With Displacement?
I want to ask, a month and a half ago I fell from the motor, because the position is still not bent after visiting a chiropractor, after 12 days I happened to go to an orthopedic doctor, then recommend a cast, after a series of X-rays again, it was revealed that the X-ray was almost similar. with the prtma bone still far protruding upwards, I think the cast helps the bone to be normal and straight again like the left one. I want to ask what is the cause of this mal union?
Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Naturally, bones can form new tissue for the healing process. There are several types of abnormalities in healing fractures or fractures, namely malunion and onunion. where malunion is an event wherein fracture recovery occurs improperly, for example skewed and asymmetrical. whereas nounion is where there is no connection between the two fractures.
Fracture management can vary depending on the type of fracture, location of the fracture, and the presence or absence of displacement or displacement of the fractured bone. generally if the fracture is set after the management of displacement the choice is ORIF (Open Reduction Internal Fixation) operation but if there is no displacement or simple bone fracture, Closed Reduction and Immobilisation can be done with a cast.
Causes of malunion include:
Too late to get medical help The position is not right when immobilized with a cast that is too fast to open to get further examination and treatment related to your condition, it helps you consult it with your orthopedic specialist.
So much information from me, hopefully it helps.
