Dizziness Accompanied By Palpitations After Leaking Heart Surgery?
Hello I am Linda 21 years 5 months ago I ran out of a leaky heart surgery with ASO (inserting a groin) after 4 months I felt fine but since October I have somehow felt dizzy but my head doesn’t hurt and feels like it’s spinning / floating, pain in the back of the chest (back) such as aches and pains in the left chest but the pain is not too frequent, it’s just that my heart suddenly feels like thumping and not controlled so that I have difficulty breathing. Why do you think? Please help.
Hello LInda, Thank you for the question.
Atrial septal occluder (ASO) is a tool used to treat heart leakage in the portico (atrium) or in atrial septal defect (ASD) conditions. ASD is a hole in the barrier that limits the two porches in the heart that causes interruption of blood flow in the heart. ASO serves to close this hole so that blood flow in the heart can return to normal. Dizziness complaints that you experience accompanied by left chest pain should be checked by a cardiologist who treats you. Dizziness complaints in patients with congenital heart disease need to be considered the possibility of complications in these actions which again causes an interruption of blood flow in the heart so that blood flow to organs including the heart and brain is also disrupted. Impaired blood flow in both organs can cause complaints that you feel. In addition, dizziness complaints can also be caused by dehydration, anemia, decreased blood sugar levels, decreased blood pressure, and others.
Please check with your heart specialist first, to determine whether your complaint originates from your heart health condition or not. The doctor will re-examine you, including blood tests, ECG and echocardiography to find the cause. If you already know the cause, the doctor will determine the next treatment. For a while, avoid excessive physical activity. Make sure you eat regularly and consume more nutritious food. Keep your water intake at least 2 liters per day.
Hopefully this information is useful.
