good afternoonrnI want to ask if I have OCD or not? I’ve read a lot of articles about this disease, there are some that are almost the same that I experienced, I’m always afraid to die on my own diei or those closest to me, I often do things over and over until I stop doing them on numbers that I think are safe, I always think mystical I’m tired of always thinking that what I’m doing will happen that doesn’t work, am I actually OCD or not?

1 Answer:

Good evening, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder is a form of psychiatric disorder in which the sufferer has thoughts that are focused on one particular thing many times (obsessive) and feels compelled to do something over and over (compulsively) regarding the obsession. If not fulfilled, the patient will feel very anxious and disturbed. Usually the sufferer consciously wants to leave this behavior. Examples of OCD behavior include repeatedly locking the door of the house, repeatedly cleaning the table, repeatedly checking whether the stove is off, repeatedly washing hands or taking a shower because they feel they are not clean.

But the fear of death and mystical thoughts that you feel does not describe OCD, as long as it is not accompanied by certain behaviors that temporarily calm the mind. Feeling anxious about what might happen is called paranoia in the mental world, and has a different approach to OCD.

So our advice is that you see a psychiatrist. Tell us all your worries and fears. There's no need to be embarrassed or anxious, going to a psychiatrist doesn't mean you're crazy. The world of psychiatry is much broader than just a 'crazy' disease or, to be more precise, schizophrenia. Now mental medicine has advanced and more and more people are no longer ashamed to go to a psychiatrist. I hope you and your family are always healthy.

That's all, hope it helps.
