1 Answer:

Hello stevany,

Thank you for the question.

Phlegm cough, runny nose, and discomfort in the throat are most often caused by acute respiratory infections (ARI). Various microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria, can trigger ARI, including the Corona virus that causes COVID-19 (corona virus disease). Based on the latest protocol, you should be aware of COVID-19 if you have a history of contact with COVID-19 sufferers, have a history of traveling to areas that report local COVID-19 transmissions, or have a history of contact with people from areas who report local COVID transmissions. -19. Do you have this risk factor?

Not only ARI, your complaints may also be caused by other factors, such as allergies, irritation, gastric acid reflux, benign or malignant tumors, asthma, bronchitis, foreign body aspiration, immune disorders, even infections in other parts of the airways and infections in other organ systems.

If you do not have the above risk factors, it is unlikely that you will get COVID-19. However, if it is over after taking medication your complaints have not improved, it never hurts to go to see your doctor directly, ENT doctor, or doctor of internal medicine. Blood tests, throat swabs, sputum tests, x-rays, etc. it may be that the doctor will recommend that the originator of your complaint can be known and handled properly. The doctor who examined you later who will advise you on what checks need to be done.

In the meantime, you can take the following steps:

Drink more warm water. Don't consume cold and oily foods and drinks. Stay away from substances that make you allergic, such as cold, dust, animal hair, pollen. Don't use physical activity too tired. Use masks while still coughing and runny nose. Sleep enough to stay away from cigarettes and the smoke Do not carelessly take medication other than those prescribed by the doctor. Hope it helps.
