Does Appendicitis Reduce Endurance And Ease Allergic Recurrence?
Good night. I want to ask. Lately my allergies often recur. Every morning always appears. either cold allergy or something else. I have a history of appendicitis surgery. But after that I quite often eat spicy. and maybe my intestine is infected again. Well, can an infection in my appendix make my immunity go down, then I get an allergy ,? Thanks.
Hello Helga, thank you for using the HealthReplies.com service.
Appendicitis or in medical terms known as appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix (appendix) which is located at one end of the large intestine. According to research this appendicitis actually plays a role in the immune system immunity, where many good bacteria develop in the appendix and can defeat the bad bacteria, so that digestive infections can be minimized. However, if the appendix is blocked by fecal accumulation, enlarged lymphoid follicles, worms, or tumors, it can cause appendicitis.
Usually the management of appendicitis is surgical removal of the appendix or known as appendectomy. After removal of the appendix, the possibility of being infected again is very small because the appendix is gone. Until now, research has only been limited to the relationship between appendicitis and the immune system in the digestive tract, but not to the relationship between appendicitis and allergies.
I suggest you to consult directly with a specialist in internal medicine or preferably to an immunology and allergy consultant if your symptoms last a long time and interfere with your activities, so that treatment can be given according to your diagnosis
As for the things you can do right now are:
- Avoid allergens or substances that are suspected as triggers of allergies
- Use a mask if you are allergic to dust, pollution, and smoke
- Use a jacket or sweater when in a cold place
- Enough rest
- Eat nutritious foods
- Regular exercise
Such information that I can provide, hopefully can help you.
