Does Benzoyl Peroxide In Acne Medicine Make Acne Scars Become Blackened?
I want to ask, does benzolac make acne scars turn black / stubborn?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Benzolac is a drug that contains benzoyl peroxide, a drug that is given for the treatment of mild to moderate acne. Benzoyl peroxide works in 2 ways, the first is to kill the bacteria that causes acne, the second is to get rid of the blockages in the pores of the skin by speeding up skin turnover.
Although it can work very quickly and effectively, Benzoyl Peroxide also has several side effects, including causing the skin to become irritated, dry, and scaly. Acne itself can cause blackening of acne scars (which is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), but Benzoyl Peroxide can cause further irritation to the skin which causes forced hyperpigmentation to last longer and may appear darker in people with more skin color dark.
This drug is classified as hard drugs, therefore before you use this drug, you should consult with your doctor first.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
