Does Bronchitis Leave Scars In The Lungs?
I want to ask, I am suffering from bronchitis. Is it true that bronchitis will leave marks in the lungs? Because someone told me that my lung health history could cause me not to pass during a medical check-up later. So I will fail even though I have recovered.
Hello Indra, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com
Bronchitis is inflammation or inflammation of the lung canal, namely the bronchi, bromcus which functions to carry air to the lungs. Symptoms of borncitis for example in the form of coughing, shortness of breath. And bronchitis can be divided into two forms namely:
Acute bronchitis, usually resolves on its own within one week to 10 days.
Chronic bronchitis, can last for 2 months or more
Bronchitis if not treated properly can cause complications, namely pneumonia. Pneumonia is an infection of the lung sac that can occur in one or both lungs. And pneumonia if not handled properly, can cause complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
What is meant by leaving scars on the lung is usually pulmonary fibrosis, where pulmonary fibrosis is scarring or scarring in the lungs that can cause disruption and damage to lung function. And to ensure that several investigations can be done such as blood tests, spirometry tests, and chest x-ray examination. In addition, the doctor will also check the symptoms and health conditions of your medical history such as whether you have been exposed to certain substances such as smoking, dust, and substances other pollutants.
But not all bronchitis can cause fibrosis or scarring of the lungs. Therefore to ensure that you can consult or discuss with a lung specialist about bronchitis that you experience.
Regarding qualification not passing during medical check-ups, it will usually depend on the agency you registered. Each agency has different criteria, including health conditions. If it does meet the criteria of the agency by your condition is not dangerous then you can pass the examination. However, if on the contrary, your condition endangers your own health and that of others, you may not pass the selection.
