Does Myoma Include Uterine Cancer?
Is myoma including uterine cancer? Can the sufferer get pregnant? Does surgery need to be done? And whether after the operation is carried out the patient can get pregnant? Please explain. Thank you
Hello Mila, thank you for asking.
Myoma uteri or also called fibroids is abnormal tissue growth in the muscle lining of the uterine wall. Myoma uteri included in benign tumors. Uterine cancer is a malignant tumor. Both are not the same. Some studies assume that myoma does not lead to uterine cancer. Although, it is possible for one person to have the same myoma and uterine cancer together, but not related to cause and effect.
Uterine myomas vary in size and number. If it is not large and not many, and does not cause any symptoms, usually the doctor will not take surgery. However, if the myoma provides symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, surgery might be considered. People with myoma uteri can certainly still get pregnant. However, if the myoma is large, it may cause miscarriage or interruption of uterine contractions during labor. The obstetrician will discuss with the patient whether or not surgery is necessary and what risks might occur during surgery.
Hopefully this answer can be useful. Regards.
