Does PCV Immunization Have Side Effects Into Fever In Infants?
My child is 5 months old, injected PCV immunization this morning, starting at 4 pm body temperature rose to 38 degrees, what are the side effects of PCV immunization? If yes, how long will generally last? thanks.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
PCV or Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine is a vaccine given to prevent pneumococcal bacterial infections that can cause pneumonia, meningitis, and also sepsis in children. Giving this vaccine can indeed cause some mild side effects, including:
skin reaction at the injection site (being reddish, swollen, palpable pain) fever and chills decrease appetite headache weakness and fatigue quickly These symptoms will usually disappear within 1-3 days. Usually your pediatrician will prescribe a fever medicine when your child is vaccinated which you can give if the child has a fever. If your doctor does not give it, you can buy Paracetamol yourself and give it to your child according to the recommended dosage in the package. If after 3 days the fever does not go down, the fever is very high, or the child has a seizure the first time, take your child to the pediatrician.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
