Does Pregnancy Milk Affect The Menstrual Cycle?
I want to ask, can I drink prenagen essence milk even though I want my period because I haven’t had my period for more than 1 month but I’m not pregnant. The doctor advised me to have regular periods. Will it slow down my period? Thank you.
Hi Dwi Hartini,
Thanks for the question.
Our bodies need calcium for the growth and maintenance of teeth and bones. In addition, calcium is also needed by the nerves, heart, blood clotting system to function properly. Adult women need about 1000mg of calcium in a day. The main source of calcium can be obtained from milk. Milk for planning pregnancy usually contains calcium, folic acid, and other nutrients needed by the body. So, actually there is no problem if you consume it even if you are not pregnant.
But keep in mind also, the source of calcium is not only from milk, you can also get it by eating cheese, tofu, tempeh, spinach, nuts.
Until now there has been no study that reports that consuming milk (be it milk for planning pregnancy or other types of milk) can slow down menstruation. If your period is late, there are many possible causes besides pregnancy, namely:
Psychological stress Physical fatigue Drastic weight changes Thyroid disorders Discuss with a Gynecologist about the above possibilities, yes, because only a doctor who has taken a history (Doctor-Patient question and answer), a physical examination directly can determine your medical condition and provide appropriate handling.
In addition, eat healthy foods with balanced nutrition on a regular basis, get enough rest, manage psychological stress, exercise regularly and avoid taking over-the-counter drugs without a doctor's prescription.
So hopefully it can help.
