Does The Knee Hurt Due To Impact?
Hello, I am now in college and I am 22 years old, when I was in middle school around the age of 14 my knee had hit the floor quite hard, after that incident the knee could not be straightened, stiff, so it felt very painful when it would be straightened and swollen, but only I apply massage oil, then slowly the swelling disappears and the legs are not stiff anymore. After that I never went to the doctor because I felt healed. But it turns out my knee when I want to walk or when walking is often suddenly stiff again, it hurts to be moved, and as the sound of “crick ” like that, roughly from these symptoms is it normal or include symptoms of an illness? And is that dangerous? Please answer, thank you
Hello! Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com
Pain in the knee can be caused due to the following conditions:
Injured knee injuries to muscles, ligaments, cartilage, skin, etc. Inflammation in joints Leg cloak dislocation Excessive use of muscles in the knee and surrounding history The history of knee injuries that you experienced 8 years ago, is actually long enough. However, if an injury that previously caused serious damage to the structure in the leg, disturbances may arise later on after the injury. For that, to ascertain the cause of the condition, you should consult a general practitioner first so that further physical examination can be done. If you feel the need for further tracking, the doctor will conduct a supporting examination such as an X-ray examination or refer you to a particular specialist according to suspicion of the condition, for example a bone specialist.
As for what you should do is:
Limit strenuous physical activity involving painful knees Cold compresses on painful knees Avoid extreme knee bending movements If pain is very disturbing, you can take over-the-counter pain medications at pharmacies such as paracetamol :)
