DPT 1 Immunization Is Missed In Children Aged 2 Years?
Hello Zettira, Thank you for the question.
Diphtheria, pertussis, and tetantus (DPT) are one of the basic immunizations recommended by the Indonesian government to prevent these diseases. DPT is given 3 times as basic immunization and repeat immunization one year after DPT 3 immunization, at the age of 5 years or before entering school, and at the age of 12 years using the Td vaccine. If your child is late in receiving a DPT vaccine, the vaccine does not need to be repeated from the beginning but it is continued according to the schedule for the next immunization. Thus, you do not need to worry about your child's DPT immunization.
Usually your child is recommended to postpone immunization if your child is sick, especially if you have a fever. However, if your child's condition is only mildly ill, then your child can still receive immunizations. We recommend that before receiving immunizations, please re-check your child to the doctor or pediatrician. Follow the immunization schedule according to the doctor's recommendation.
Hopefully this information is useful.
