DPT-HB-Hib Continued Immunization Missed?
I want to ask my child is now 21 months old and at the age of 18 months he has not received further DPT-HB-Hib immunization, can he follow? Or is it okay if you don’t have an immunization? Is immunization for 18 months required?
Hello Vera, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Based on the recommendations given by IDAI (Indonesian Pediatrician Association), every child aged 18 months is recommended to receive booster immunization for polio, DTP, Hib and also measles, where this immunization is recommended as an additional immunization to help increase immunity that has already formed in in the body of the child in order to achieve optimal and can provide optimal protection also for these diseases.
For missed cases, based on these recommendations, there are certain times that can be used to pursue missed immunizations to ensure the child gets a complete and optimal immunization, but for your child's condition, you should first consult directly with your doctor for further evaluation about the condition and whether it doesn't matter if the immunization is not given.
For now, you should routinely take your child to the posyandu for nutritional measurements and immunization to ensure that your child's condition grows normally and get optimal protection from various diseases that can be prevented by immunization.
I hope this helps.
