DPT, POLIO, HBV Vaccine, Concurrent Meningitis?
, want to ask nAllowing DPT, Polio, HBV, Meningitis vaccines simultaneously in children aged 2 months? nThank you
Hello Mother Dawn! Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Important vaccinations given to children to protect children from various dangerous infectious diseases. DPT vaccines (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus), Polio, HBV (hepatitis B virus), and meningitis (due to Haemophilus influenzae type B - HIB infection) are indeed given together in children aged 2 months. Currently available DPT, HBV and HIB vaccines are combined in 1 injection. So at the age of 2 months, your child will be injected twice. Similarly, at the age of 3 months and 4 months. Giving vaccines that are not concurrent will actually reduce the effect of the vaccine in protecting your child from various dangerous diseases.
That's all information from me. I hope this helps.
