Drinking ASI After The Child Takes TB Medicine?
Good morning, want to ask my child aged 19 months + tuberculosis, if my child takes breast milk after taking TB medicine what is the level of effectiveness of the medication? Thank you doctor
Hello, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Actually there is no official research on the effectiveness of TB drugs mixed with breast milk. But from various sources, this drug may be swallowed with water, juice, or milk so breast milk should not interfere with its effectiveness. If you feel worried, you can give a distance of about a few minutes to 1 hour before breastfeeding.
Do not forget to give TB drugs according to the doctor's advice without missing. Control according to the time determined by the doctor. If there are certain symptoms such as itching, tightness, impaired hearing / vision, cough that does not subside, fever, immediately see a doctor for further examination.
