Hello Rika, Thank you for the question.
Cough is actually one of the responses of the respiratory tract when there is irritation in the respiratory tract, such as cigarette smoke, dust or other air pollution. In addition, a pile of mucus in the respiratory tract can also trigger a cough because the respiratory tract tries to remove this mucus. However, if the cough is experienced more frequently, then it may indeed be caused by a certain medical condition for example:
flu
cold
sore throat
bronchitis
allergic reaction
If symptoms are mild, you can do the independent treatment first by:
Avoid exposure to cigarette smoke, dust or other air pollution
avoid smoking
get enough rest for 7-9 hours every day
multiply water consumption
gargle with warm salt water, consume lozenges, or consume lemon water mixed with honey
multiply the consumption of nutritious foods
You are also advised to limit interactions with others and you should be independent isolate at home for the next 14 days, close your mouth when coughing with a tissue then throw it away in the trash, and always keep your hands clean by washing with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
If the symptoms do not improve for more than 2 weeks, or if you have a high fever (38 C or more) for 3 days or more, please immediately consult your nearest doctor so that you can ascertain the reasons for further treatment. However, if there are symptoms of shortness of breath, please immediately refer you to the nearest emergency room because these symptoms need to be treated immediately.
Hopefully this information helps you.
