Ear Bleeding, Pain And Buzzing?
Good evening, I want to ask. When I cleaned my right ear using a cotton swab, suddenly my cotton bud was a little red (it looked like it was bleeding but there was only a little blood) even though I didn’t feel any pain and it was buzzing. what sign is that? thanks
Cleaning the ear with a cotton bud is actually not recommended to be used to clean the inside of the ear but only around the earlobe, because in addition to pushing earwax deeper it can also injure the lining of the ear (especially if you pick the ear too hard or the cotton bud material is not good). Blood in the cotton buds as you have experienced can be caused by an injury when cleaning the ear, a pimple, infection, foreign body in the ear, steatoma or a torn eardrum. To trace the cause, it is necessary to do a direct examination of your ear, therefore it is advisable to consult a doctor, so that the doctor can provide appropriate treatment according to the diagnosis. Meanwhile, the ear is quite left and do not insert a foreign object.
In the future, avoid cleaning the inside of the ear with a cotton bud because actually the ear already has a mechanism to clean the ear naturally from dirt. Ears need to be cleaned when a collection of dirt has closed the ear canal so that it can cause itching, hearing is not clear, discomfort, etc. One of the recommended safe ways is to use over-the-counter ear wax softeners (follow the instructions for use and avoid if there are contraindications) or by dripping baby oil.
