Ear Pain And Itching After The Eardrum Surgery?
Hello . I want to ask, in 2019, on March, I finished the eardrum surgery. I thought after the surgery my ears would improve but it turned out that it wasn’t, why was my ear like itching so much it keeps on disappearing, it hurts, it feels full too, at least it feels uncomfortable when my ears sound like heartbeat sounds. What should I do ? I have been going back and forth to check the ENT doctor but only given the medicine and there have been no changes during this month. Thank you 🙏
Ear drum installation surgery is also called tympanoplasty. This operation is useful to improve the structure of the eardrum (tympanic) due to infection, inflammation or physical trauma and to treat the condition of chronic middle ear inflammation (otitis media). An intact eardrum is also useful for preventing the entry of foreign matter into the middle ear canal.
The onset of itching and fullness in the ear canal can be caused by inflammation of the ear canal (otitis externa), inflammation of the middle ear canal such as acute otitis media or effusion otitis media. Surgical procedures do not necessarily address these conditions because complaints can occur after tympanoplasty procedures.
The emergence of throbbing sensation in the ear can also be caused by inflammation, infection, blockage of dirt in the ear or hearing loss. The doctor who treats you is certainly far more understanding about your condition as a whole than just through an online consultation. Because you have already performed medical procedures and there are complaints, I strongly recommend that you consult with your doctor directly to be examined further and to get further treatment in accordance with the underlying conditions. However, if the complaint persists, you can ask the opinion of other doctors related to the condition in order to get optimal treatment.
