Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Nexium is a drug that contains Esomeprazole. This drug is best taken on an empty stomach, so it is recommended to be consumed at least 1 hour before eating. Consuming with food or immediately after eating will reduce the absorption of this drug by half.
To make sure the stomach stays empty when you take medicine, you can eat snacks about 1-2 hours before taking the medicine. If you take medicine at 6 pm, then you can eat snacks around 4 or 5 pm (depending on what snacks you consume). If you consume snacks that are easily digested (for example crackers), you can eat the last snacks at 5 pm. If you eat snacks that are a bit greasy or difficult to digest, it's best to eat at 4:00 p.m. last.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
