I have been injected with Ebola when I went to Umrah. Can I get Ebola?

1 Answer:

Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com

Do you mean if you can get Ebola because you have been vaccinated? Until now the available vaccines are not live vaccines (as oral polio vaccine, smallpox vaccine, MMR, rotavirus, etc.), so the ebola vaccine will not cause ebola disease.

If what you mean is whether you might get Ebola after you have vaccinated, to date the Ebola vaccine available is still in the clinical trial stage (because Ebola itself is a rare disease). Available vaccines have proven to be quite effective in preventing Ebola infection (results still vary in every ongoing study, but one type of vaccine shows effectiveness of up to 100%). But how long this vaccine is effective in preventing Ebola infection, is still not known clearly.

So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
