Effects Of Forgetting To Take Hormone Drugs?
Hello, I want to ask, I am using cycloprogynova hormone therapy, it’s already 3 months, and yesterday I forgot to drink, and I drank it Wednesday night according to the previous hour, and now I have brown spots, what should I do?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
The drug you mentioned (cyclo progynova) contains active ingredients of synthetic hormones, namely estradiol valerate and norgestrel. This drug is often used as hormonal therapy in women who experience symptoms of estrogen deficiency, either during perimenopause or after menopause. This drug can also be given as an effort to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who have a high risk of fractures.
The consumption of this drug is ideally done like a birth control pill, which is taken every day at the same time. Being late in taking this drug can decrease its effectiveness, especially if the delay exceeds 12 hours.
The discharge of brown spots that you are experiencing is likely the result of this. Delay in taking this drug if it occurs in less than 12 hours can be overcome by taking the drug immediately when you remember. However, if this delay occurs more than 12 hours as in your case, then the tablets that should have been taken on the day you forgot should be left in the blister, and you take the other tablets as scheduled.
The drugs you mention are not included in the category of over-the-counter drugs. Therefore, with regard to how to consume it, you should consult again with the obstetrician who prescribed it to prevent potential unwanted side effects.
Hope it helps ..
