Effects Of Using 2 Types Of Contraception During Intercourse?
, I want to ask. Can I drink Postinor? If you have intercourse by using contraception. Previously, I knew that this postinor was taken if not using contraception. But I want to use it to prevent pregnancy only. Will it be dangerous for the uterus? And from what I read this postinor can be consumed for a maximum of 120 hours (5 days) how about that? Is it still effective? Because I haven’t taken my last drink since I had sex on April 14th yesterday.
What contraception do you use? If you are already using contraception, you are most likely protected and do not need to use Postinor again. Postinor is an emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel which is used to prevent pregnancy under certain conditions, such as when you forget to take your birth control pills or when a condom breaks.
Levonorgestrel is effective if taken for less than 24 hours. The effectiveness will decrease by 40%-55% if taken within 24-72 hours. After 72 hours the effect is no longer effective.
If you are already using contraception, I suggest that you do not need to take levonorgestrel again, especially since it has been more than 72 hours since you had intercourse so it is no longer effective.
Levonorgestrel should also not be taken too often. Levonorgestrel has some side effects such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, menstrual cycle disturbances, fatigue, and diarrhea.
