Estimated Gestational Age?
Good afternoon, permission to ask r n r nI am a husband who works away from home, and only deals with his wife once every 3 months. Finally I got in touch with my wife on November 10, 2018, and 3 months before. From the results of the ultrasound, it was stated that my wife was 7 weeks pregnant. Is it possible? Because if you count from the last related only 40 days. And what is the age calculation shown on the ultrasound? R n r nWaiting for the answer, thank you
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
Keep in mind the estimated age of pregnancy in general using a benchmark date of the first day when the last menstruation, not based on the last time having sex. The first day of last menstrual period (HPHT) is more commonly used because it is more easily remembered by women. Calculation with the time when ovulation or when sexual intercourse will be more difficult to predict. So it is very possible if the current gestational age does not correspond to when it was last related because it uses the HPHT calculation.
The HPHT can then be calculated on the day of birth (HPL). HPL based on HPHT is not always accurate and estimative. Birth time can be 2 weeks faster to 2 weeks slower than HPL. In addition to HPHT you can also use fetal size measurements based on ultrasound to estimate fetal age as confirmation.
Carry out further consultations with obstetricians for routine mininal examinations 1 time during trimester 1, 1 time during trimester 2, and 2 times during trimester 3.
That's all, hope you can help. Wassalam
