Explanation About Making A New Sewer?
HealthReplies.com, good afternoon … related to my previous question earlier, later whether the new drainage made is ‘permanent’ or only temporary (brp approximately 2 months)? Please help detailed description / explanation. Previously I was very appreciative and thankful for the answer to my question by Dr. Ulfi Umroni, the answer is thank God God ‘reduced’ my anxiety level. Thank you HealthReplies.com.
Hello Rama, Thank you for asking again at HealthReplies.com.
The new drain you mentioned is known as a colostomy. Colostomy is an action to "divert" the stool out into the abdominal wall, by making a hole in a certain part of the large intestine and in the abdominal wall, then this part of the intestine is ejected into a hole in the abdominal wall so that the stool does not come out through the anus or into an abnormal channel which forms between the bladder and large intestine (fistula). Whether making this channel is permanent or temporary depends on whether your bladder cancer (carcinoma bladder / Ca Buli) that you experience can be treated completely or not. If your bladder cancer is still at an early stage and can be treated completely, then making this colostomy is temporary and left until the doctor can take action to remove / overcome the cancer and the fistula formed can also be repaired by the doctor so that the stool does not flow back to bladder. However, if the condition of your bladder cancer is quite complex, then this colostomy will be maintained for a long period of time even permanently.
Because I do not know how the condition of your bladder cancer, including its severity, sorry I can not provide more detailed and clear information. The best step you can take is to re-consult with a surgeon about this plan for making a colostomy and about the severity of your condition and the treatment your doctor will undertake. Prepare questions before you meet the doctor so you don't forget to ask.
Hopefully this information helps you.
