Explanation Of Injecting HPV Vaccine?
Good afternoon doctor. I am a woman who has had free sex. But I have never even injected HPV. So my question is, can I still get the HPV vaccine? And if it still works, what kind of HPV vaccine should I do?
Good morning, thanks for the question
HPV vaccine is useful for preventing sexually transmitted infections including low risk types that cause genital warts or condyloma akuminata, or high risk types that cause cervical cancer. HPV vaccine is highly recommended given since adolescents and women who have not been sexually active because it is most likely not yet exposed to the human papilloma virus.
Especially in adult women who have multiple sexual partners, the effectiveness of this vaccine is actually relatively low, because the possibility of exposure to the HPV virus has occurred before vaccination. However, this vaccine can still be given to women who have sexually active with the assumption that the vaccine can still provide protection against other types of HPV viruses.
In your case you should first consult with an obstetrician for evaluation, because in each case there can be different clinical considerations.
That's all, hope you can help.
