Explanation Of Mammary Ultrasound Results?
Good evening. I am 25 years old and I want to ask. I have a lump in the left breast, after consulting with the SpPD doctor, I was immediately asked to do an ultrasound. After the ultrasound and received the results, the radiologist said it’s nothing but a tumor. But after I gave the results of the ultrasound to the Doctor SpPD the info was a benign tumor and had to be operated on immediately and consulted with the Surgeon first. I was confused what to do. Here are my ultrasound results: Right-left and right-left axillary mammals On transverse and longitudinal cutsCutis and subcutaneous both Impressions: Fibroglandular tissue structures appear dense homogeneous according to age No visible hypo / hyperechoic / nodular lesions Cystic / solid lesions on the right and left of the mother. There was no apparent pathological enlargement of the right-left axillary lymph nodes. That was the result in January 2019. Please advise and direction. thank you
Good evening Anisa, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com. We understand your confusion. Lumps in the breast do not always mean cancer or tumor, there are various other possible causes for the appearance of a lump in the breast, including:
Liquid-filled cysts or lumps
Fat necrosis or dead fat tissue
Regarding the ultrasound results that you submit, there are indeed no signs of tumor or emergency, so we think there are other factors that make your internal medicine doctor suspect that there is a benign tumor there. But on the other hand, breast lumps are not the competence of internal medicine doctors, but surgeons, that's why you are asked to see a surgeon first.
Our advice, you should obey its recommendations and consult a surgeon first by bringing the results of the ultrasound. The final decision will be with your surgeon, what the diagnosis is, and what treatment is the best, whether it requires surgery or not.
Meanwhile, do not need to worry too much, avoid cigarette smoke, adequate rest, if there is pain, compress the painful part with warm compresses and consume pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs that are sold freely by reading the rules of use listed. So, hopefully answering your question.
