Explanation Of Minus The Eye?
Hello, I want to ask if 6/12 is minus, huh? And 6/9 is minus brp? thank you
Hello Faith, Thank you for the question.
Size 6/12 and 6/9 is a measure of eye vision / visual acuity. This result is obtained by reading various letter sizes in the snellen chart. Eye vision examination is done by standing as far as 6 meters then one by one eye a person will be asked to read the letters listed on the snellen chart. Normal eye vision is 6/6, or in other words people with normal vision can see with a distance of 6 meters, as well as people tested. Eye vision 6/12 means that people with normal vision can see within 12 meters while those tested are only at a distance of 6 meters; for eye vision 6/9 means that people with normal vision can see within a distance of 9 meters while people who are tested only at a distance of 6 meters. After knowing the results of eye vision, will be followed by an examination to determine the strength of the lens lens that will be used to improve vision sharpness. Each of these eye vision can not be directly changed or interpreted how much the strength of the minus lens. Not necessarily people with the same vision will have the same minus lens strength.
Therefore, to ensure the strength of the lens minus the glasses to be used it is recommended to consult with an ophthalmologist further. The doctor will re-examine your eyes including checking the strength of the lens minus the glasses to be used. Afterwards the doctor will prescribe glasses that you can bring to the nearest optics. An examination by an eye doctor is highly recommended to find out the right size of glasses. If indeed you have a myopia / nearsightedness, you are advised to be diligent to see an eye doctor. Get used to always adjust the room lighting and electronic devices that you use to keep it comfortable for the eyes.
I hope this helps.
