Explanation Of The Results Of Ultrasound Examination Of The Uterus?
Good morning doctor, I’m in the pregnant program. Yesterday I had an ultrasound to see the size of my egg, the left side was safe, then on the right side it was found free liquid said the doctor but it was not explained what kind of liquid it was. What I want to ask if I want to cure it should I see a gynecologist or skin and genitals? And what tests did I do to find out what it was?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Maybe what is meant is free fluid around the uterus.
Normally, during ovulation, the release of a mature egg into the uterus, it will produce a small amount of fluid that can flow into the Douglas cavity (the gap between the uterus and the rectum). Usually, in this condition, the fluid flowing into the Duglas cavity is around 1-5 ml only, and does not cause the patient to experience any complaints. If this is the case, no special treatment is needed, because this liquid can be absorbed by the body itself.
However, if the amount of fluid is large enough (more than 5 ml), or appears accompanied by annoying complaints, such as abdominal pain, menstrual disorders, abnormal vaginal discharge, nausea, begah, vomiting, distended, etc., this free liquid may refer to a diseases, for example ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, pelvic inflammation, intra-abdominal tumors, ascites (for example due to liver or heart problems), peritonitis, and so on.
You can observe from our explanation above, your condition can be a natural thing, but it can also be dangerous and has the potential to interfere with your pregnancy program as well as your pregnancy later. Without checking you directly, of course we are not authorized to ascertain the cause and the best handling of your complaint. Therefore, it is more appropriate for you to check yourself back at your doctor or obstetrician. If there are many free liquids around your uterus, your doctor may recommend that you undergo culdocentesis, which is a siphoning off a portion of the fluid with a needle to be evaluated in the composition laboratory of the cell composition. Other tests, for example USG, HSG, laboratory, etc. can also be done by doctors if deemed necessary. Depending on the cause, your condition can later be treated with a variety, for example enough by observation, drug administration, surgery, and so on.
Hope this helps ...
