Eye Examination Results?
I want to ask if right cyl -075 axis 90 and left cyl -075 axis 70 what does that mean?
Thank you for the question. The eyeglass prescription you mentioned is an eye prescription for cylinder eyes. Cylindrical eye or astigmatism is an eye refractive disorder that causes blurred vision due to the shape of the cornea that is not perfectly convex or uneven. Normally, the cornea and lens of the eye work together to allow light to enter the eye and focus on a single point on the retina. In people who have corneas that are not perfectly convex, light is not focused on a single point on the retina, causing the person's vision to be blurred.
In the prescription for these glasses, the right and left eyes have the same cylinder size, namely 0.75, but what distinguishes them is the axis. The axis is a measure expressed in degrees from 0 to 180.It represents the cylinder position / curvature of your cornea. If you want to find out more you can ask an optometrist or ophthalmologist where you will have your eye examined directly.
Hope this information is helpful.
