Facial Pain Accompanied By Fever And Swollen Eyes During Pregnancy?
I am 35 weeks pregnant. Around this morning my left eye was red and swollen, my fever and my face felt painful. There are symptoms like getting a cold too. Is this an indication of a serious illness and when should I see a doctor?
Swelling in the eyes that are painful, accompanied by fever can be caused by various things. These causes include food / drug allergies, insect bites on the face area, bumps, kalazion, eye infections, kidney problems, sinusitis that has complications.
35 weeks of gestation is recommended to consult to check pregnancy once every 2 weeks. However, if your complaint does not improve or even accompanied by difficulty seeing, you should immediately consult with your obstetrician and gynecologist to determine the cause of the swollen eye pain accompanied by fever. The doctor will conduct a question and answer relating to your complaints, a history of the disease during and before pregnancy, do a physical examination, especially the face area and will determine the diagnosis. The doctor will provide appropriate treatment.
To temporarily relieve swollen eyes, do the following:
Cool compresses on swollen eyes and facial areas. You can use tea bags that are soaked in cold water first.
Rest by giving more pillows on the head.
Avoid excessive tiring activities because it will aggravate the swelling in the eyes.
Avoid using contact lenses and makeup around the eyes.
