Fear Of Excessive Social Media?
I recently felt an excessive fear of social media applications like Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp messages so I decided to uninstall all of my social media chat applications. I thought I would be better after I uninstalled it, but in fact it wasn’t … when I decided to try it, I dared to install it again. I was even more afraid of my heart pounding so fast that my legs were shaking so much … thinking about opening the application had already happened. makes my heart beat fast. Why is this? Previously, I didn’t like this for some reason now. Is it normal? I am 18 years old. Thanks for the help, please answer …
Good afternoon, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com. Excessive fear of an object is called phobia. People with phobias can feel and display excessive fear for something that actually does not harm and does not scare others.
Specifically, phobias can occur in anything. What we often hear may be phobia of height, phobia of spiders, phobias of snakes, and phobias of narrow spaces, but once again phobias can occur in anything, including even strange things such as fruits, long words, until maybe social media as you experience. The causes are varied. Some are because a person has experienced certain traumatic conditions in the past related to his phobia, and some is due to an imbalance of certain chemicals in the brain. In your case, it was not impossible at some time in the past, that you had a bad experience using social media so you are now afraid to use it.
To be sure, this condition will still not be clear if it is not examined directly. Our advice is that you should check your condition with a psychologist or psychiatrist so that a thorough interview and examination can be done, possibly including certain tests to find out your tendencies. If already known, the handling can be done, for example by providing certain therapies to restore your view of social media.
For the time being, try to be honest with what you want. Is the social media itself or is there something else? Try digging into yourself, are you still thinking about social media even though you have deleted it from your gadget or not. Because people with phobias can still experience phobias even if only by imagining it. If so, try to shift your focus to other things and activities, and immediately check yourself. So, hopefully answering your question.
