Feels Like A Bump On The Lip Wound After An Accident?
Good afternoon, I want to ask .. when I was in 4th grade I had an accident and then I fell to my lips on the asphalt, and after that I went to the nearest clinic to treat it but it wasn’t sewn only just given an ointment so that the wound on my lips was dry because I was afraid of being sewed, and now I am 17 years old there is a lump on my right lip that has a trace of meat, so it’s just next to it but it doesn’t hurt, how do I deal with it? thanks.
Hi Rendy .. Thank you for the question.
After a wound heals, scar tissue forms above it to protect and repair the tissue. Lumps that appear on the scar can occur due to keloids or it could be due to hyperthropic scar. Keloids are formed with a size larger than a wound and appear to thicken, can be accompanied by itching, and can last in the long run. Bilakeloid continues to grow and uncontrolled growth it is necessary to suspect malignancy. To get rid of keloids doctors can suggest a number of actions such as: laser, regular injections, radiation, or surgery.
Therefore, if you feel a lump is very disturbing, and it is felt that the lump is getting bigger then it is better for you to go to a surgeon, so that the doctor can do a direct examination and can determine the appropriate treatment measures. While what you can do is: avoid holding the enlarged part, find out if you are at risk of having keloids because keloids can be genetically inherited in the family.
