Feels Of Phlegm On The Nose Until The Head Feels Heavy?
, a few days ago I had a cold and cough with phlegm. Now the cold has healed and the cough has subsided. But, my head still feels heavy, to the point that my ears feel bizarre and a little hard to hear. The throat and nose also feel uncomfortable because there is phlegm that is difficult to remove. It feels like I’m swallowing phlegm from the nose. Is that sinus? My nostrils are indeed one-sided, and they bleed quickly / hurt when touched. thanks.
Hello Ristia, Thank you for the question.
Have you seen a doctor? Headaches accompanied by mucus flowing from the nose to the throat can indeed be caused by sinusitis. Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses. Sinus is an air-filled cavity located under the cheekbones, nose, and forehead. Usually sufferers will experience symptoms such as fever, headache, nasal congestion, yellow or green nasal mucus, reduced sense of smell, cough, bad breath, and feel the flow of mucus from the nose to the throat (post nasal drip). This condition can be caused by viral, bacterial, or fungal infections, dental infections, hygiene injuries, or the presence of foreign objects in the nose. If you have a smaller nasal cavity, for example due to nasal polyps or deviation of the nasal septum, this condition increases your risk of developing sinusitis.
Besides sinusitis, the headaches you experience can also be caused by other conditions such as tension headaches, cluster headaches, migraines, eye refraction problems, glaucoma, and others.
My advice, you should check with an ENT specialist first. In addition to asking your complaints more closely, your doctor also needs to do an examination on you including X-rays, CT scans, or endoscopy. If it is caused by sinusitis, the doctor will provide appropriate treatment such as nasal sprays, decongestants, antibiotics, pain relievers, corticosteroids, or surgery.
In the meantime, you can breathe hot steam from a bowl of hot water or do nasal irrigation with saline liquid that can be purchased at pharmacies to help thin the nasal mucus so that it is easier to remove.
Hopefully this information is useful.
