k I was 22 weeks ago on an ultrasound to see the sex but it turned out to be covered by the placenta and the fetal position was transverse, head facing up. What did the doctor think?

Hi Devy, thanks for the question for HealthReplies.com

The baby in the womb is always moving and circling until it reaches approximately 30 weeks of gestation, when the baby's space for movement begins to be limited. At 30 weeks of gestation, most of the baby's head is in a downward position. This position can still change up to 34 weeks of gestation even though the possibility of changing is smaller. At 36 weeks of gestation, the baby's position is usually fixed and does not change anymore.

At your current gestational age (22 weeks), the baby is still spinning in your womb, so there's nothing for you to worry about. If the doctor cannot see the sex of the baby because the placenta is closed or the position of the fetus is not right to see the sex, the doctor can plan to do another ultrasound.

That's all the information from me, I hope it's enough to answer
