my child is 3.8 months old, his fever has not come down yet 40.7 degrees Guess “Is that normal TDK? Because of all his body on the rash” please explain Thank you.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, fever in children is not normal, especially if the fever reaches 40 degrees Celsius. The following are some things that make you have to take your child to the pediatrician if you have a fever:
Children less than 3 months old who have a fever up to 38 degrees Celsius Children aged 3-6 months who have a fever up to more than 39 degrees Celsius Children over 6 months who have a fever up to more than 39.5 degrees Celsius Children over 3 months who have a fever any temperature for up to 3 days or more Children experience diarrhea and vomiting many times to show signs of dehydration Children experience coughing colds more than 7 days and do not heal Children experience shortness of breath Children look weak, sleep continues, do not want to eat and drink, experience impaired consciousness, or if the child has a seizure The child has a fever accompanied by a rash It is recommended that you immediately take your child to the pediatrician (not only taken to the midwife) for further evaluation and management. The condition of your child is clearly abnormal and requires further evaluation. You can give a fever-lowering drug such as Paracetamol according to the recommended dosage on the packaging every 4-6 hours (4-6 times a day) if the fever does not go down or go back up and make sure you provide enough fluids for your child. If your child is under 6 months old, it is recommended that you give more milk or formula to your child. Some other things you can do:
Do not put clothes too thick and layered on children, use thin clothing only, and set the temperature of the room so that children do not feel cold Do not compress the child using cold water or alcohol You can do a sponge bath (soaking a part of the child's lower body in warm water and soaking upper body with a bath sponge)
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
