Fever is a condition when the body temperature is more than 38 degrees Celsius. Fever is an immune reaction when the body fights infection. Generally, fever is accompanied by other symptoms such as chills, headache, nausea and vomiting, sore throat, cough, loss of appetite, red spots/spots and soreness or muscle aches.
Some conditions that can cause fever include:
Viral infections such as dengue fever, influenza, chikungunya
Bacterial infections eg urinary tract infections, pneumonia, tonsillitis
Parasitic infections such as malaria, typhoid fever
Standing too long in the sun
Arthritis or hyperthyroidism
Side effects of medications such as antibiotics or antidepressants
And so forth
Therefore, to determine the cause of the disease, the doctor needs to conduct a medical interview, direct physical examination and appropriate supporting examinations (eg blood test, urine test, throat swab, ultrasound, etc.). If the high fever does not go down and down accompanied by severe headache, unable to eat, decreased consciousness, severe nosebleeds and interferes with activities; you should immediately check and consult a doctor or an internal medicine specialist for further medical examination.
Some things you can do at home include:
Drink lots of water to prevent dehydration
Taking fever-reducing drugs such as paracetamol
Compress to help reduce fever
Consumption of balanced nutritious food to increase endurance
I hope this helps,
