Infants less than 1 year old must get five complete basic immunizations, namely Hepatitis B, BCG, polio, DPT and measles. Where, this immunization aims to be able to form a child's immune system passively, so as to prevent the germ concerned to infect and cause disease in the future.
Although some children can still experience infectious diseases from the germ concerned. But at least, the pain that arises is not as heavy as the children who do not get immunized. The diseases that want to be prevented by giving these five complete basic immunizations are diseases that can cause permanent disability and death. That is why the government and the association of Indonesian pediatricians requires that every child get it.
Each type of immunization has a time schedule for administration. Where babies aged 2 months to 2 months 29 days is the age to get Hepatitis B 2 immunization, BCG, polio 1 and DPT 1. It does not matter when the type of vaccination is given on the same day, especially if it is spaced 2 weeks, certainly no more problem. There is even a type of vaccination that is a combination of several vaccines. The most important thing is the distance of the same vaccine next, for example DPT 2 vaccine can be given at least 1 month from the distance of DPT 1. However, if it is too long it will have a reduced effect on the effectiveness of vaccines in forming the immune system. Even so, being late is better than nothing. Therefore, it is very important to record the date of vaccination that has been obtained.
Thus hopefully useful.
